Indonesian professionals engaged in the VCO and spices sector recently participated in the Australia Awards Short Course on Standardisation and Product Compliance for Virgin Coconut Oil and Spices, delivered by Griffith University and managed by the Australia Awards in Indonesia in collaboration with the KATALIS (the economic cooperation program between Indonesia and Australia to maximise IA-CEPA) program. This course aimed to enhance Indonesia's export competitiveness in coconut and spices. By fostering a deep understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape and standards among Indonesian regulators, industry leaders, and associations, the course built strong connections between regulatory bodies and businesses in Australia and Indonesia.
Their packed visit to Australia began with a meeting at ITPC Sydney and continued to Canberra, including stops at the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Food Standards Australia New Zealand, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In Brisbane, the Indonesian regulators and business leaders met with the Australian Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries and Minister for Rural Communities, Hon. Mark Furner. We are eager to witness the positive outcomes of these strengthened ties and newfound knowledge in Indonesia's export sector.
