Empowerment of Women Farmers Through Complete-Feed Technology Transfer to Increase the Income of Small Farmers after the Earthquake in Lombok

Project Rationale:
Beef Cattle is a primary occupation of some people in Lombok specifically in Wanasaba District which is a victim of Earthquake recently. They have 2 or three heads of cattle and spend half of their daily live to looking for grasses for their animals. Based on economic and business calculation, this type of farming system is not efficient. Depend on some researches, to fullfil household necessity, farmer should have minimum 10 heads of cattle. The problem is they cannot fed their cattle because they use 100% of grass in their production system. On the other hand, agricultural waste in NTB is very abundant, for example: by product and waste of paddy, corn, coffee, peanuts, soybean etc. These kinds of waste are very potential to be formulate as a feed for beef cattle due to its high nutritional content.
Project Description:
The first thing which will be conducted is feed management training which include the experts from KRRB, ACIAR, LIPI and Internal SPR Ridho Ilahi organization. In addition, the training process will be arranged as simple as possible and conveyed along with simple examples of documentation in form of picture or video about the success of complete feed application. Secondly, practical session in formulation and making process of complete feed will be advised by lead project and team which is coincidentally have applied the system in their farmer group. Team will make data collection template to ensure all of the processes, namely feed supply and growth measurement will be well conducted.
Project Beneficiaries:
Fifteen participants objected to be able to apply complete feed technology in their farming system to enhance their farming scale from 2 or 3 heads to at least 7 heads/household.
