The Australia Awards Garuda Scholarships are primarily targeted at principals and teachers currently employed at the 12 designated Sekolah Garuda Transformasi (SGT). The scholarships are also open to applicants who are completing or have completed the Teacher Profession Certification (Pendidikan Profesi Guru) and are based in one of the following provinces: East Nusa Tenggara, Bangka Belitung, North Kalimantan and Southeast Sulawesi, and are committed to relocating for placement at a Sekolah Garuda Baru. Recipients of the Australia Awards Garuda Scholarships will receive a comprehensive support package, beginning before departure, continuing throughout their studies in Australia and extending upon their return as education leaders in Indonesia.
