Ready for the next chapter: Indonesian scholars prepare for their Australian study journey

More than 180 recipients of Australia Awards Scholarships, LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships and Australia Awards Garuda Scholarships are preparing to begin their studies in Australia in 2026. They recently took part in the Pre-Departure Training (PDT) Enrichment Week, a five-day program designed to prepare them for life, study and professional opportunities in Australia.
Scholars explored topics ranging from gender equality, disability, social inclusion and mental well-being to academic life, professional networking and personal development. They also gained practical insights and connected with experts, universities and fellow scholars before heading to Australia.
The Australian Government delivered the PDT Enrichment Week in partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of State Secretariat, with support from Australian universities and other experts.
With their preparations well underway, the scholars are now one step closer to beginning their Australian study journey.
