Welcome to the GEDSI Network!

The GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) Network is an empowering platform for Australian alumni passionate about fostering inclusivity and driving change. This network connects like-minded alumni, encourages collaboration, and provides opportunities to exchange ideas, share expertise, and support GEDSI initiatives in Indonesia.

Whether you are an advocate, professional, or someone eager to contribute to a more inclusive society, the GEDSI Network offers a space to connect, learn, and create impact together.

Who Can Join?

The GEDSI Network welcomes all Indonesian nationals who have graduated from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, including:

  • Australian Government scholarship recipients.
  • Government of Indonesia scholarship recipients who studied in Australia.
  • Private fee-paying students who completed their degrees in Australia.
  • Alumni of short-term courses at registered Australian institutions, including those under Australia Awards Fellowships, Short Courses, and the Department of Immigration, Customs and Border Control ELICOS program.
  • Participants in Australian Government-hosted programs, including but not limited to:
    • Australia-Indonesia Muslim Exchange Program
    • BRIDGE School Partnerships Program
    • Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program
    • ELTA Program
    • Visiting Journalist Program

Key Milestones: Our Journey So Far

  • Initial Brainstorming Discussion (31 July 2024):
    A foundational meeting where alumni shared ideas, helped shape the Network’s structure and identified roles for driving and managing the Network.
  • Inaugural Meeting (21 November 2024):
    An engaging event that raised awareness of challenges faced by women from disadvantaged backgrounds, promoted open dialogue on systemic issues, and encouraged diverse alumni participation in GEDSI discussions.

With each milestone, the GEDSI Network continues to grow, evolve, and create lasting impact.
