Annex A: Personal Data for the RPWW Program

  • Copies of my relevant academic records/reports from the educational institutions I have attended.
  • Quotations of my data (related to academic background, achievements, leadership skills, and study programs I attended in Australia) in connection with my participation in the Research Proposal Writing Workshop Program.
  • In connection with my participation in the Research Proposal Writing Workshop Program, my personal information, including Sensitive Personal Data as defined by the Personal Data Protection Act and Sensitive Information as defined by the Privacy Act, which includes:
    • Identity data, such as given name, family name, date of birth, and gender.
    • Contact details, such as email address and telephone number.
    • Employment-related data.
    • Educational history.

Purpose

  • For use in the selection process for the Research Proposal Writing Workshop Program.
  • To provide information to relevant Australian officials.
  • The Australian Government uses and discloses such quotations in promotional materials in print and on the Internet. Promotional materials may include, but are not limited to, media releases and information circulated to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and Australian educational institutions in connection with Australia Awards.
  • Alumni data maintenance purposes:
    • To send information about Scholarship Recipients & Alumni Updates (news, events, educational opportunities, and networking).
    • To identify various programs, events, and opportunities that are relevant and beneficial to me as an Australia Alumni.

Data Retention Period

  • From the time of application, throughout the training period, and until I become an alumnus/alumna of the Australia Awards Research Proposal Writing Workshop Program.

Disclosed To

  • The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian Government and Parliamentary officials.
  • The Australian Government, DFAT offices, and Australian educational institutions.
  • Disclosed by and exchanged among DFAT, other government agencies including Australian immigration authorities, Australian educational institutions, and partner organizations (including prime contractors and subcontractors).
