Call for Expressions of Interest: 2026 Indonesian Language Learning Ambassador (ILLA) Program

We are excited to invite Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Second Cohort 2026 Indonesian Language Learning Ambassadors (ILLA) Program!

ILLA connects Australian schools with Indonesian scholars currently studying in Australia, who serve as cultural and language ambassadors. The program offers scholars a unique opportunity to engage directly with Australian educators and students, gaining valuable insights into Australian culture, community life and classroom practices. In return, ambassadors enrich Australian students’ learning by sharing their knowledge of Indonesia’s language, culture and traditions, fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections.

All Indonesian scholars, including the recipients of the Australia Awards, Aus4ASEAN, LPDP-AAS and ACIAR Scholarships, are eligible to apply. Through this initiative, scholars will help enhance students’ understanding of Indonesia and inspire greater interest in Indonesian language learning across Australian schools and universities.

Scholars who successfully complete the program will receive certificates recognising their contributions.

EOIs are now open! Submit your Expression of Interest via this link by 30 April 2026.

Australia Awards in Indonesia will hold an online information session on 23 April 2026 at 14:00 WIB. This session will guide applicants through the application process, including the online application system, matching and interview procedures. RSVP for this online session before 21 April 2026 here.
