AIBC Young Professionals and Australia Awards host a Discussion Forum.
Seventy guests attended a panel discussion involving Australia Awards in Indonesia (AAI) scholars from Monash University and The University of Melbourne representing their organisations and providing reflections from their current studies on the Austrade 'ASEAN Now' publication. The Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) through its Young Professionals branch sought registrations for this event from AIBC Victorian Branch members, Australia Indonesia Youth Association (AIYA), AAI scholars, Indonesia Students Association (PPIA) and representation from the Indonesian Consulate General including Consul General Ms Spica Alphanya Tutuhatunewa and Vice Consul for Economic Affairs Mrs Orchida Sekarratri. Indonesian private sector organisations represented by AAI scholars included PT Siemens Indonesia, PT Waskita Karya Persero and Bank BCA, semi government representation included PT Garuda while ‘enabling ministries’ represented by AAI scholars included Bappenas, Fiscal Policy Agency and the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board.
To profile the caliber of AAI scholars and to make valuable connections with the AIBC was a key outcome aimed for from the Discussion Forum and on that front the evening was a resounding success. The AIBC Victoria Branch has been an enthusiastic partner in the delivery of the inaugural Discussion Forum. Monash University provided its Conference Centre in Melbourne for the occasion which enabled all participants to take advantage of the central Collins Street address.
The AIBC/AAI Discussion Forum was provided as part of AAI’s On Award Enrichment activities, delivered across Australia to AAI scholars and looks forward to further collaboration with the AIBC and other key players within the Australia-Indonesia private sector space, delivered as part of AAI’s broader cross-sector activities.
