Kursus Singkat Australia Awards Berakhir, Menampilkan Strategi Efektif untuk Memerangi Misinformasi dan Disinformasi

The Australia Awards Short Course on The Challenge of Mis- and Disinformation: Fostering Information Integrity and Media Literacy in Democratic Societies concluded with a three-day Post-Course Workshop in Jakarta from 11–13 February 2025. Delivered by the Queensland University of Technology, the course brought together Indonesian policymakers, journalists, activists, content creators, and social media influencers to explore positive and effective approaches to combating misinformation and disinformation.

The workshop opened with inspiring remarks from Emma Blanch, First Secretary for Justice and Democratic Governance at the Australian Embassy in Indonesia. The sessions were further enriched by Rory Asyari, who shared valuable tips on delivering impactful presentations, and Donny Utoyo (Donny BU), Chairman of Siberkreasi/National Digital Literacy Movement, highlighted Siberkreasi’s role in promoting digital literacy.

Participants also took part in Award Project Presentations, where they shared innovative ideas to tackle the challenges of misinformation and disinformation. During a dynamic alumni sharing session, Prof Alimatul Qibtiyah, Commissioner of KOMNAS Perempuan, and Dr Devie Rahmawati, Lecturer at Universitas Indonesia, reflected on how the short course has shaped their careers and expanded their professional networks.

Reflecting on the experience, Alfons Yoshio Hartanto shared, “The short course addresses current issues with misinformation and gives me ways to fight hoaxes. It also helps me collaborate with people I never thought I’d work with.”

Congratulations to all participants who are completing the course and joining the Australia Awards alumni network. Wishing you continued success in your future endeavours!
