Memperkenalkan Para Peserta Bimbingan dan Pembimbing dalam Program Bimbingan Jaringan Alumni GEDSI Australia Tahun 2026

We are pleased to announce the selected mentees and mentors for the 2026 Australian GEDSI Alumni Network Mentoring Program, which connects Australian alumni with shared interests and expertise in gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI).

The six-month program aims to strengthen alumni capacity, leadership and professional networks through two-way knowledge exchange. Experienced alumni contribute as mentors, sharing their knowledge and professional experience, while mentees gain guidance, new perspectives and support to advance their professional and community goals. Through individual mentoring, group learning, thematic webinars and networking opportunities, participants will strengthen their ability to apply GEDSI principles and contribute to more inclusive development outcomes across Indonesia.

Among the selected mentors is Gema Gumelar, a University of Sydney alumnus with nearly 15 years of experience in disability inclusion. As the founder of KASIH RUMALA Group Foundation, he supports more than 3,000 people with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities through community-based programmes and legal advocacy.

Gema shared, ‘With nearly 15 years in disability inclusion, I founded KASIH RUMALA Group Foundation, supporting 3,000+ people with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities through community-based programmes and legal advocacy. I hope to exchange perspectives, grow as a mentor and promote legal capacity, supported decision-making and disability rights.’

Meanwhile, Bety Herlina, a Queensland University of Technology alumna and one of the program’s mentees, is a journalist based in Bengkulu and founder of Bincang Perempuan, a local media outlet covering women’s and youth issues.

Bety said, ‘Through GEDSI mentoring, I hope to deepen my practical GEDSI knowledge and create more inclusive journalism that amplifies marginalised voices in Indonesia’s digital media ecosystem.’

The Australian GEDSI Alumni Network Mentoring Program reflects a shared commitment to strengthening inclusive leadership and collaboration among Australian alumni. By connecting experienced professionals with alumni seeking guidance and new perspectives, the program creates opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore practical solutions to GEDSI challenges and build stronger professional networks.

Congratulations to all selected mentees and mentors. We look forward to seeing how their shared learning and collaboration help advance gender equality, disability inclusion and social inclusion across professional fields and communities in Indonesia.
