Call for Expressions of Interest: Become an ILLA Host Institution

Could your school or university use some additional support teaching Indonesian? Would you like to update the teaching materials for your students? An ILLA ambassador might be just what you need!

We are excited to invite Expressions of Interest from Australian schools, universities, and language institutions to become Host Institutions for the Indonesian Language Learning Ambassador (ILLA) Program!

The ILLA program connects participating Australian institutions with an ‘ambassador’: an Indonesian scholar fully funded by the Australian Government who is currently studying in Australia. Through this program, Australian students gain valuable insights and a deeper understanding of Indonesian language and culture by interacting with passionate Indonesian scholars sharing their language, culture, and diverse perspectives. ILLA ambassadors offer Australian school and university language teachers a unique resource to complement classroom teaching practices, support student learning, and develop contemporary Indonesian language learning materials.

For Indonesian scholars, ILLA offers the opportunity to engage directly with Australian schools or universities, interacting with teachers, lecturers, and students to gain first-hand experience of Australian culture, community life, and classroom practices. Ambassadors can share their knowledge of Indonesian language and culture develop teaching experience, and build meaningful connections within local Australian communities.
