Setting the Stage for Success: Nusantara Scholars Engage in Comprehensive Pre-Study Orientation

Our Australia Awards Indonesia Nusantara scholars recently attended a two-day Pre-Study Orientation at Monash University Indonesia campus. This program, designed to equip scholars with vital information and resources, provided a comprehensive understanding of scholarship benefits, policies, and development goals. Notably, this event also marked the commencement of their studies at Monash University Indonesia on 28 September 2024.

The two-day orientation program featured a dynamic agenda designed to equip scholars with the necessary tools for success. On the first day, ten scholars from the 2024 intake participated in sessions that covered key topics such as the GEDSI Principle, scholarship policies, Australia-Indonesia bilateral relations, and the latest updates on the new capital city, Nusantara. They also had the opportunity to hear study experiences shared by representatives of scholars from the 2023 intake.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the Personal Development and Networking Plan (PDNP) session, which welcomed six additional Nusantara scholars from the 2023 intake. This session, facilitated by Ms Elena Williams, an Australia Awards in Indonesia Joint Selection Team member, guided scholars in setting personal and professional goals. They learned how to create effective action plans, analyse skill gaps, and set goals for both short and long-term periods, all aimed at driving positive change and contributing to Indonesia’s development, particularly in Nusantara.

We hope this orientation empowers them to contribute to the future of Nusantara with their newfound knowledge and networks!
