LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships
LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious collaboration international awards offered by the Indonesian and Australian Governments to the next generation of global leaders to obtain a Masters degree from an Australian tertiary institution.
Indonesia continues to prioritise human capital development as a core contribution to its broader development goals. Central to this is the availability of highly educated and trained human resources to achieve an innovation-driven economy, sustained economic growth, and equitable and inclusive social outcomes.
At the Australia-Indonesia Annual Leaders’ Meeting in Sydney in July 2023, Indonesian President, Joko Widodo and Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese issued a Joint Communique welcoming new collaboration between Australia Awards Indonesia and the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) to enhance and expand scholarship opportunities for Indonesian students studying in Australia.
LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships are the product of a new partnership that will increase access to scholarships, improve the quality of scholarship outcomes, and create new tertiary education linkages between Indonesia and Australia. For the pilot intake 2025, the Scholarships will focus on study programs related to the blue economy, green/renewable energy, and digital/information technology.
This Scholarship offers a wide range of benefits that include English language and academic support before studying in Australia, as well as a series of professional development and networking activities that will enrich the knowledge, experience and network of scholars prior to, during and after their study. The LPDP-Australia Awards Scholarships aim to achieve a balance across female and male scholars and encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds. The Scholarships are available to all eligible Indonesian citizens. People with disability and residents of target areas who have demonstrated academic excellence will be encouraged to apply.
Applicants are assessed on their professional qualities, soft skills, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to overcome development challenges in Indonesia.
