Monash Indonesian Seminar Series: “Ending Invisibility and Stigma in Indonesia”

Join the next instalment in the Monash Indonesian Seminar Series (MISS) – a collaboration between Monash University Library and Monash Herb Feith Indonesian Engagement Centre on Thursday, 3 June 2021 from 4:00 PM AEST / 1:00 PM WIB – as Santi Kusumaningrum, Director of the Centre for Child Protection and Wellbeing discusses the challenges faced by many Indonesians in living without a birth certificate. This issue arose as millions of Indonesians are blocked from basic health, education and social services – including the act of acquiring a birth certificate for their children.

Santi works to make systems and services safe and to ensure they promote wellbeing and enable social inclusion and resilience of children and marginalized individuals. She was trained in Criminology and Social Policy at University of Indonesia and received her Doctorate in Public Health from Columbia University, where she twice received a school-wide Award of Excellence in Global Health.

Register here by 2 June 2021.
