Australian Consulate-General in Surabaya Celebrates 70 Years of Australian Scholarships in Indonesia in an Alumni Gala Dinner

In honour of the 70 years of Australian scholarships in Indonesia, the Australian Consulate-General in Surabaya organised a remarkable Australian Alumni Gala Dinner at the Vasa Hotel on 3 June.

Many Australian alumni residing in and around Surabaya graced the occasion, coming together to commemorate the arrival of the first batch of Indonesian students who received Colombo Plan scholarships to study in Australia seven decades ago.

Ms Fiona Hoggart, the Australian Consul-General in Surabaya, hosted the Gala Dinner, which was made even more lively and engaging by the presence of Marissa Anita, an OzAlum MC. The event featured captivating entertainment and musical performances by Cak Dave (Londo Kampung) and the Flat White Band.

We express our gratitude to all those who joined us in Surabaya to celebrate this significant milestone. We eagerly anticipate staying connected with Indonesia's exceptional Australian alumni community throughout 2023.
