Join the Indonesian Language Learning Ambassador Program: Submit Your Expression of Interest

We are excited to invite Expressions of Interest to the Indonesian Language Learning Ambassador (ILLA) Program!

ILLA connects Australian schools and universities with Indonesian scholars who serve as Ambassadors. This program offers Indonesian scholars a unique opportunity to engage directly with Australian educators and students, gaining first-hand insights into Australian culture, community, and classroom practices. At the same time, Ambassadors share their expertise in the Indonesian language, culture, and customs, fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections within Australian communities.

Launched as a pilot school program in early 2024 following the Australia-Indonesia Annual Leaders’ Meeting in July 2023, ILLA has now expanded to include both schools and universities.

The third cohort of the ILLA program will place Indonesian scholars in 9 partner schools and 4 universities across Australia, supporting Indonesian language and cultural learning. This program is open to scholars from all disciplines, offering an unparalleled opportunity to gain classroom experience alongside experienced Australian educators. Scholars will contribute to enhancing students’ understanding of Indonesia while fostering interest in the Indonesian language and culture.

This is a voluntary program, with limited financial support for ILLA activities provided in accordance with AAI guidelines. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive certificates.
