Melbourne was filled with energy as the Australia-Indonesia Amazing Race, hosted by Australia Awards in Indonesia, unfolded on 22 February 2025!
Starting and ending at Flinders Street Amphitheatre, Federation Square, teams of Indonesian scholars and New Colombo Plan (NCP) alumni raced against the clock through Melbourne’s CBD, solving clues and tackling fun challenges that tested their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and navigation abilities.
Along the way, participants explored iconic landmarks like QV Square, the Giant Purse sculpture, and Parliament House. They also experienced the artistic flair of Hosier Lane, the energy of Swanston Street, and the vibrant Bourke Street.
Beyond the competition, the event fostered leadership, cross-cultural exchange, and community building, strengthening ties between Indonesian scholars, NCP alumni, and PPIA members. It also provided scholars with valuable networking opportunities, helping them adapt to life in Australia.
The race concluded with an awards ceremony at Federation Square, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and the enduring Australia-Indonesia friendship.
