Join Our Guest Lecture on ‘The Future of Sustainable Buildings: Inside the Legacy Living Lab’

How can circular economy principles reshape sustainable buildings and reduce carbon emissions in the built environment?

Join our online guest lecture, ‘The Future of Sustainable Buildings: Inside the Legacy Living Lab’, delivered by Dr Roberto Minunno from Curtin University, on Friday, 19 June 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm (Jakarta time).

As the built environment faces increasing pressure to lower emissions and minimise waste, this lecture introduces the Legacy Living Lab (L3), a pioneering example of circular design and construction. Designed to be fully reusable and disassemblable, L3 enables building materials and components to be recovered and reused rather than discarded, achieving nearly a 90% reduction in carbon emissions compared to conventional buildings and demonstrating circularity in action.

In this session, Dr Minunno will discuss the innovative design strategies, material choices, and construction methods behind L3, while exploring how circular economy approaches can be adapted to the Indonesian context to support more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible building practices. The lecture will conclude with an interactive discussion, offering participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and explore practical strategies to advance circular economy initiatives locally.

Indonesian graduates and scholars of Australian tertiary institutions are especially encouraged to attend. Please RSVP via this link by Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Due to limited places, early registration is recommended. Attendees will receive an e-certificate of participation.
