Project Rationale:
Tapis is a traditional thread woven technique has become precious heritage and the main income for Women in Pesawaran, Lampung. However, the development has been really only limited to local production capacity with traditional design. Their market exposure was really limited to older generation only, and thus not match with the ever-changing fashion industry and demand. The existing marketing strategies were only limited to passive approach, and within very limited scope.
Thus, to revolutionize the creation and industry, we need to modernize the design development and production approaches.
Project Beneficiaries:
50 female artisans in Desa Katon, Pesawaran, Lampung. These women are the leading force of economic and cultural preservation within the society.
