The Australia Awards Short Course on ‘Feeding the Future: Maternal and Children’s Nutrition’ concluded with a post-course workshop in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on 23–25 September 2025.
Building on insights from their studies in Australia, participants came together to present their Award Projects, share challenges and opportunities, and exchange ideas on improving nutrition for mothers and children across Indonesia. The workshop also included field visits to Puskesmas Naioni and Puskesmas Oesapa, where participants observed innovative, community-driven efforts to reduce stunting.
Reflecting on the experience, Ayu Sajida Daad Arini shared: ‘The short course has been important to me both professionally and personally. Along with growing my network, I’ve had the chance to learn more about the theory behind maternal and child nutrition, as well as how to develop effective interventions.’
Echoing this, Rio Setiawan noted: ‘I’m very grateful to have participated in this short course, as it aligns with Indonesia’s growing focus on improving access to nutritious food for all. The experience has strengthened my commitment to supporting better nutrition outcomes in our communities.’
Armed with stronger networks, practical knowledge, and a renewed commitment, participants are ready to continue empowering healthier mothers, children, and communities across Indonesia. We wish them every success in their journey ahead.
