Pasture, Feed and Water Management Short Course Wraps Up with Inspiring Workshop in Bandung
The Australia Awards Short Course ‘Pasture, Feed and Water Management Practices to Improve Dairy Livestock Productivity’ concluded with a three-day post-course workshop in Bandung from 30 September to 2 October 2025. The program brought together 25 Indonesian professionals committed to enhancing the future of the nation’s dairy sector.
Delivered by Griffith University, the course was officially opened with remarks from Mr Andrew O’Sullivan, Minister Counsellor for Agriculture, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), underscoring Australia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Indonesia’s agricultural development.
Throughout the workshop, participants presented their Award Projects, showcasing practical strategies to improve pasture, feed, and water management across diverse Indonesian regions. They also engaged with experts from Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), strengthening academic and professional linkages between the two countries.
A highlight of the workshop was the site visits to two small-to-medium dairy farms in the Bandung area, where participants observed first-hand how local farmers are applying innovative practices to improve livestock productivity.
Reflecting on his experience, participant Aswah Ridhowi shared, ‘During the program, I acquired new friendships, valuable insights, expanded professional networks, and first-hand experience in dairy farming practices in Australia.’
With fresh knowledge, stronger networks, and practical tools, these alumni are ready to champion even better dairy production in Indonesia.
