From Study to Success: New Australia Awards Alumni Reflect and Connect at the Reintegration Workshop

Our newly returned Australia Awards scholars gathered for an exciting two-day Reintegration Workshop in Jakarta on 6 and 7 September 2024. The workshop was a remarkable opportunity for these accomplished alumni to reflect on their academic achievements, forge lifelong cross-cultural connections, and begin their next chapter.

Facilitated by KPI Consultancy, the event was dynamic, engaging, and fun. During the workshop, participants participated in reflective exercises, sharing their successes, stories, and lessons learned throughout their scholarship journey. They also explored how to harness influence, persuasion, and thought leadership to advocate for ideas and drive change while gaining insights into managing reverse culture shock and building strong professional networks.

These new Australia Awards alumni also had the opportunity to learn about establishing research partnerships with Australian institutions, thanks to an informative session from KONEKSI. Raissa Almira expressed her gratitude for the workshop, saying, “Australia Awards in Indonesia facilitated the sessions very effectively, and I am also grateful to have met and gotten to know so many recently returned scholars!” Meanwhile, Andi Rachmatulla shared how the workshop helped his transition: “The reintegration workshop by AAI made my transition from studying in Australia to returning to work in Jakarta become a smooth experience.”

We are immensely proud of our alumni and wish them a seamless reintegration into life back home. We are confident that their contributions will create lasting impacts within their communities and continue to strengthen the bonds between Indonesia and Australia.
