Are you keen on learning how to foster and nurture an agile and inclusive health workforce? Join our online lecture on Friday, 27 January, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Jakarta time and gain insight into the topic with Dr David Lim from Western Sydney University.
Some of the challenges encountered by the Australian health, disability and aged care health workforce in recent decades included a segmented approach to health and support care workforce development, a heavy focus on the provision of acute, centralised, and specialised health care, maldistribution, instability and lack of continuality in career development, cross-sector competition for the workforce, inadequate human resource management practices and inappropriate organisational culture. These challenges have been further precipitated by the various waves of COVID-19 that demand agility and flexibility in the workforce. The COVID-19 pandemic has provided an opportunity to think differently about how to prepare the future health workforce that is inclusive of the diverse patients and health system’s needs yet is agile and responsive to changing demands.
Some of the solutions that were trailed included the expanded, extended, and shared scope of practice, the use of enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence and telehealth, incentive, and overseas recruitment. A system approach is required to address this wicked problem. This presentation will include breakout rooms for the participants to discuss and explore local solutions for fostering and nurturing an agile and inclusive health workforce. Before the workshop, participants are encouraged to consider barriers and enablers to an inclusive education and labour market.
The e-certificate for participation is available. If you are interested in attending this event, RSVP by 25 January at this link. Click here for more information about the online lecture and Dr David Lim.
