The brimming joy of reconnection filled the air as over 100 alumni in Manado gathered for the Alumni Networking Dinner on 23 November 2023, graciously hosted by the Australian Consulate-General in Makassar.
Hosted by an MC, Dr Grace Korompis, the evening commenced with a greeting from Australia's Consul-General in Makassar, Mr Todd Dias. Mr Febry HJ Dien, a distinguished alumnus and a secretary of IKAMA North Sulawesi, gives warm remarks to everyone, adding a welcoming atmosphere to the night.
The night's spotlight shone on Professor Dantje Terno Sembel, an esteemed alumnus and original recipient of the Colombo Plan Scholarship. Mr. Todd Dias presented him with a plaque, acknowledging his exceptional contributions.
The Alumni Networking Dinner in Manado is part of the 70 Years Australia Scholarships in Indonesia campaign commemorating seven decades of educational collaboration between the two nations. Throughout 2023, the Australian Embassy and Consulates-General in Indonesia conducted a series of events to celebrate this historic milestone, highlighting the invaluable role played by our alumni in strengthening the relationship between Australia and Indonesia.
